Good player. Anyone who says otherwise is a fucking cunt. Long way to go, but he's only a lad. What the fuck do people want if it's not youngsters like this coming out of the club ? Cunts.

Re: Declan Rice
What impresses me is that if he does make a cock-up, he doesn't go to pieces.

Compare wih Cresswell, who always looks shaky for the rest of the game if he blunders.

Re: Declan Rice
It’s definitely a bonus that he can play a few roles in the team, can help us transition from back 3 to a back 4 so easily. Luis Gustavo, Fernandinho and busquets are the players he should be modeling himself on.

Re: Declan Rice
I think at the moment he should play centre half and use that ability to step out and pass the ball.

Call me creepy but I’d love to see Rice, Nathan Holland and Marcus Browne become regular squad members next season.

Happy to see the lad getting plaudits for his country.

Don’t think putting him at CM in anything other than an injury crisis is the way to go - but handy to know he could fill in if called upon.

Personally, his two or three howlers aside, I thought he grew in confidence and performance with every game. Didn’t look out of place or put a thing wrong in most games, would love to see him force himself into Pellegrini's starting XI next year and for years to come.

Re: Declan Rice
On what planet does having a good game against a shit USA side make him a premier league midfielder? Good luck to the lad but we should have more ambition than playing a kid out of position just because he's a kid. WHO is obsessed with our youth players, it's pretty creepy really.

Sven Roeder 12:26 Sun Jun 3
Re: Declan Rice
The kid made mistakes like all kids do
But we were so shit we didn’t have the option to put him in and out as you would want to do with any 19yo. Especially as a centre half dealing with top players and any mistake is punished.

Got more confidence as the season went on obviously and what I liked towards the end was the way he stepped out with the ball.
Having seen Rio at 17 and players like Stones (who everyone WANKS over) I reckon Rice is going to be something special.
Seems level headed and mature and just hope we can keep him long enough for him to be captain of West Ham Utd.

Don't get me started on Ogbonna!

Takashi Miike 3:08 Sun Jun 3
Re: Declan Rice
Ronald, it's no coincidence that Ogbonna's form improved greatly once Rice was playing alongside him. that's a fact, no conspiracy. Oggy played better next to a teenager who you think is shit. please stop now with your hatred and embrace Declan

Re: Declan Rice
I don't have a hatred towards him, rational or irrational.
What I do rail against, though, is people getting carried away by players doing the occasional good thing, but they seem to ignore the general standard of that player's performance. Noble is another case in point.

So, my objectivity, Miichael, is a cross you are going to have to fucking bear!

Re: Declan Rice
all players make mistakes, ronald. stop being harsh because you have an irrational hatred towards the lad. even rio fucked up sometimes, it's an occupational hazard of being a defender

Ronald_antly 2:44 Sun Jun 3
Re: Declan Rice
I'm not.

I've seen him have games where's he's done nothing wrong, other games where he's made a number of basic errors, and, of course, that ABSOLUTE FUCKING HOWLER.

I didn't see the game yesterday, but perhaps the 8/10 rating he got suggests he's a better midfielder than a central defender.
He certainly ain't the best thing since Bobby Moore, as some people seem to think, that's for fucking sure!

oh dear, did you really write that? :.)

I'm not surprised you're judging a young player on one moment, you fucking weirdo.

Ronald_antly 2:21 Sun Jun 3
Re: Declan Rice
You could be right, Dissent, the further upfield he is played, the less chance there is of him ducking out of an important clearance.

Eerie Descent 2:06 Sun Jun 3
Re: Declan Rice
So, he's played in defensive midfield twice for ROI, and been MOTM twice.

The only reason that fucking idiot Vexed is saying that, is because he cunted me off for saying we should have played him in midfield last season replacing the useless cunt Kouyate.

It's another win for Descent, and further proof Vexed knows absolutely fuck all about football.
